Why Airflow Matters
Most heating failures start with poor airflow. When lint filters, vent hoses or condensers are blocked, the dryer overheats and the thermal fuse blows. Replacing the fuse without clearing the blockage means it will fail again.
Checks You Can Do
- Clean the lint filter after every cycle.
- On condenser dryers, clean the condenser unit as described in your manual.
- On vented dryers, make sure the vent hose isn't crushed or blocked.
- Check the dryer isn't set to a cool-air or delicate programme.
